Final Post This Year!!!

Hi for the last time this year. The year has gone so fast, I had a lot of fun here and I'm glad that I can come back next year for more adventure. We wrapped the year up with some dancing and reflecting about what we learned during the year. We had a shared lunch for the last day of the term. The thing I enjoyed the most this year at Enrich was the engineering workshop.

Block Slingshot

Today at Enrich the engineering group made a block slingshot. You need a hot glue gun and 6 sticks, 5 blocks, ( 1 to fire ), a peg and 1 or 2 rubber bands. You glue everything together and you end up with a neat contraption. You can fire corks or blocks, its up to you, but you need the four blocks to stick on and cellotape to stick the rubber band on. The best thing is that you can make up some targets to try and hit!

             

Fly Away

Fling, I heard as my rocket slingshot spat my rocket out like a rotten pea. Reid, Thomas and I had a competition to see whose rocket fired the furthest. I went first I fired mine and then Reid fired his, Reid's one fired further than mine. Thomas went last and his fell behind mine. Today we built slingshot rockets as part of Engineering 101 with Paul. I was very pleased with the contraption that I made in the end.

Mathmatician

Today I did some Maths at Enrich@ILT. We did angles and we tried to figure out three angle questions. After we did prime numbers. You might wonder what prime numbers are, well I'll tell you what I answered: They are a number that can only be multiplied by 1 and itself. Then we got a hundred board, we had to cross out all the non prime numbers and then we circled all the prime numbers. Did you know there are twenty five prime numbers in every one hundred, here are two, if it doesn't follow these two rules it isn't a prime number, it has to be greater than 1 and it has to have only two factors. Complete!

Today I finished doing my discovery project for next week! I finished off printing everything out and I have put a background on my poster board. My background is newspaper, but without the colourful pictures. We tried to cut out only white and black pieces to try and make it look as historical as we could. To add some colour I put my pieces of information, questions etc, on to colourful pieces of paper and put it onto my poster board.

Fun, Challenging, Learning

My favourite thing I did today was doing my art and finishing it. The most challenging thing I did today was doing clay on my own without Marie being there. The part I learned the most in today was in my discovery about my countries of importance (Germany and Australia).  In Australia, they use to have a different language.

CD Creator

Today at Enrich@ILT the Garageband group put some music on i tunes. When Paul comes back we will put all the music we created and some we downloaded from youtube on to a blank disc we can play at home with our own music. What challenged me was trying to put the music onto i tunes that was really difficult for me. What I learnt to do today was how to download the music on to i tunes even though it was a bit hard.

Special Pottery Present

Today at Enrich@ILT I did some more pottery. And what I did was I put some glazing on my fired up pottery and then I made a cup. Next week I'm going to paint my cup and going to add it to my present for my Mum. What I'm doing is making a cup, a bowl and a plate for each member of my family. If I haven't finished it all them by the end of the year I'm going to do it next year as well.

Attack!

Neigh! My third in command leaps over my servant. Servant go protect him now. Yes sir I will go right   away my servant replies. Ahhhhh! My knight screams in pain as he gets a stab straight in the stomach. This isn't looking good I say, charlie is really good but I'm not going to surrender I can prevail I say. Our five minute battle seemed like it lasted forever. Ohh! It's stalemate at least I haven't been captured, me, the king of the black.

Today I also made a goal for the term. My goal was to finish all my five bowls, cups and plates made out of pottery. I've got the exact height and length that I want to make my pottery.

GarageBand

Today at Enrich, I did a session on garageband. What we did was we got two songs and we added some music off garageband to change the way it sounded. It was up to us to make a beat of our own with a Lorde song and a Beatles song and thats how we made one new song. The second piece of music we made was all on our own. We used different samples of instruments and combined them however we want. Now you know what garageband is you can go on it yourself and one little thing, it only works on apple computers.

3 In One Day!

Today at Enrich I did three sessions based on personal development. The first rotation I did was Abraham Tanaumbams model of giftedness with Katie.  One of the five abillities you have to have is Environmental Supports. Environmental Supports is like the support networks in your environment, such as school, my family supporting you to do things like Enrich@ILT and sports.

The second session I did today was with Paul. We carried on with Digital Footprint. Paul showed us a website that you can look at to keep you safe. There is also a website that you can download a dolphin that you can click on if there's something inappropriate. Then you can go and get an adult and they will exit out of the site for you.

The last but certainly not the least was a session with Nicola on how to deal with stress. We watched a video that taught us how to deal with stress and then we did some doodling to calm us down so we wouldn't get stressed.

Busy Workshops

Today in Passion projects I made a dice and I was going to make a hiding hole but I didn't have enough time to so I didn't.

Today I also had Discovery and I attended all three workshops so that I could get above. The first workshop I did was Aurasma and we had a little refresher on how to do it.  The second workshop I did was Researching skills to help us find information easier, and the final workshop I did was Wordle which is a program that  makes writing words fun.  What you do isyou type in some words and it comes up and the more times you write the same word the bigger it is.

Dinner Set

The most challenging thing that I did today was the pop quiz. We had to answer ten questions to do with Enrich@ILT. They were pretty challenging because some were like who is the person from ILT who comes and visits us? What I want to start next week is to start making my plates I want at least one plate done by next week, maybe even two or three if I'm lucky. 

Today in my passion project, Marie came in and I planned how my plates, cups and bowls are going to look and how tall and wide they are going to be.

Anti-bullying

Today at Enrich I had a chess war against Max. I won! Max forfeited  the two games that we played. So I won the chess games.

I also anti-bullying with Paul, where we watched a Britain's Got Talent when two boys sang an anti-bullying song but tweaked it a little bit. The judges hit a golden buzzer which sent them straight to a tv version performance.

BIG IDEA

Today at Enrich, I did a discovery Big Idea sheet, where I had to say yes I used, no I didn't use it or I used it sometimes. For yes and sometimes, you had to write when you used the skills to discover something and how you used it. Katie will wipe some of the big ideas off and keep some because we have twenty two big ideas.

We also did brain training and I had twenty minutes to do some and I tried them all out. They're all pretty hard and they get harder and harder each time you do it so see how far you can get. Click this link for the video

Brain Boosters

Today at Enrich I did my last round of Brain Boosters. I had chess today and won both games. I won  first time by cornering, and the second time I was getting creamed but then I saw an opening so I took my opponents bishop and won checkmate because he blocked himself in. So I won.

We also did Multiple Intelligence and we made a creative school day based on what we got for our learning styles quiz. I created mine about P.E and Nature.

Multiple Intelligence

Today in multiple intelligence we did a learning style quiz. You had to answer twenty-four questions and at the end it will tell you what you got. I got

Thomas The Cat

Where's Thomas? All I can see is a cat. The cat is Thomas my group member reminded me. At Enrich today we explored Aurasma with Paul. It's a cool app that you can get from the app store. To scan the photo point the device at the aura and then there will be a purple spiral going around, then it will turn into a video of what it is about, like the life of someone. You can even make your own aura. It's a free app available now on the app store, I recommend it.

Clap Click Pop

Clap, Click, Pop! Today at enrich we did a little activity called clap, click, pop. To play the activity, Katie would make statements like if you have two or more uncles put your fingers up for how many you have. You had to do what Katie said if you fitted in that category.

We did a brain booster called an tangram with Paul.  You had seven shapes and you had to make different shapes and things with them. I made four different animals (eg. Fox fairy) and other shapes. I could only make one thing with 2-4 shapes and that was a parallelogram.
