Digital Dossier

Today at Enrich we learnt about a Digital Dossier. Did you know that every time you're on the internet you leave a footprint? So you have to be careful because every time you put information on the internet it's recorded and if you give out too much information about yourself people can track you down.

Today I played chess against Liam and I won. I touched my queen so I had to move it but luckily my queen had some back up,  so I got a queen for queen. Eventually I got a pawn to the end and got my queen back to check mate him.

This was great. I felt excited because I don't usually beat Liam, although I have once before.

Try

Today at Enrich we did robotics. I tried to make it work but it didn't work. I kept trying but it just wouldn't work. Darryn helped me find the problem, it was the way it was set up on the laptop, one motor was going one motor wasn't. I changed the motor and finally, it worked. It took me a couple of tries to get it right. I only just finished before we had to do blogging.

Today I played two games of chess against Tessa. I won both games without losing one of my pieces! The second game we played, I had three Queens. The first game took a couple of minutes the second game took ten minutes.

Animations

Today at Enrich I did lego animations. You have to move the lego pieces super slowly, but I made a mistake, I moved one piece a bit too slow. I've got 538 photographs so far for my first animation, but that isn't that long - it might be 20 seconds when you watch it as a movie!

In chess today I played two chess games one against Samantha and the other game against Reid. I won them both! I didn't move up the leaderboard though because I was higher than them to start with. If they were higher, I would of moved up, but they weren't!

The wait

Hello, Today we watched our performance from Tuesday night. It was uploading then it turned into the waiting game. It had twenty more minutes, when it was done it took ten more minutes. We came out of our little office and watched on the whiteboard. But in the middle of it the whiteboard turned off so we had a little break. When it finished cooling down we turned it back on we finished watching it. It was worth the wait as it was fantastic.

Let Me Entertain You

Today at Enrich we did performance. For performance two people from James Hargest came to teach us some dance moves for Let Me Entertain You. We also did a Technology challenge where we had to make a mini earthquake-proof house - enough to fit your whole team in. It had to be made out of newspaper, string, scissors and cellotape. p

Photo Shoot

Hi! Today at Enrich Liam and I did a photo shoot. What we had to do was we had to take a photo of each others whole body with a brick background. First we got a camera and took a photo then we imported our eight photos. Lastly, we emailed our photos to be printed off in colour. We put the photos so we could put them on the wall.

Today with Nicola we did a Multiple Intelligence survey. What you do is you have to answer fifty three questions and then push see results to see your results. You can have up to eight parts of your brain working at one time. I was a Kinesthetic Learner.

  

Prezi

Hi! Today at Enrich I did talent development. I made another piece of music on garageband And then presented it. My piece was a piano piece.

I did Prezi with Katie. What you do on Prezi is you make a presentation instead of a keynote. I made one on myself about the things I like and don't like. For example I don't like animal abuse and other things like I like sports. I learnt to use Prezi in all kinds of ways.

Altocumulus

Today at Enrich I did a cloud pattern workshop with Jenni. The six main cloud types are Stratocumulus, Cumulonimbus, Stratus, Cumulus, Altocumulus and Cirrus. I saw Cirrus and Stratus outside. Stratus is a flat layer of clouds, light rain, drizzle or flurries likely overcast skies at best. Cirrus is high wispy ice clouds often seen in clear skies and means a change in the weather.

Rushed

Today at Enrich I'm surprisingly going to get to go to the chess tournament. I went last year so I know what's going to happen. Last year when we were there we ate lunch, played five games of chess, had subway and then we went home. The place I finished to go to the chess tournament was...fourth. Today in Talent Development we learnt a new song called "Maybe Tomorrow" by Golden Horse. For "Maybe Tomorrow" we got the words for the song. The first three times then we had to do it without any words which we did pretty well at. Why we only had the words three times and then we didn't was because Nicola wanted us to learn songs fast.

Dry ice

Brrrrrrr! It's cold. Today at Enrich I did three dry ice experiments. In the first one we had to put the dry ice in a long tube with cold water and food colouring. What happens is bubbles and the cold water comes out [whatever colour you choose]. After we did the other two we did one ourselves. What we did was fill the cup three quarters high, put food colouring in and put dry ice in. If you want to make it bubble more put more cold water in.

Disney Danger

Today we did drama. The types of drama we did were spatial and psychological. We also did an activity called There is Only One Liar. We also had a monologue we had to memorise. Mine was called Disney Danger and is all about  the dangers of taking your parents to Disneyland.  

The Pit.

Today at Enrich we did a dress up at the end of our performance session. I was dressed up as a detective and Mia was dressed up as a bride. We all got a photo at the same time together. The wedding   will be held at Enrich on Saturday afternoon at three pm to five pm. The main dinner together will be held at the mall from six pm to nine pm.

Today we learnt about "The Pit". The Pit is all about dealing with a problem before it gets out of hand. We talked about how it feels when you are falling into the pit - being worried, scared, angry, confused and upset are just some of these feelings.  You can get out of the pit though - you need strategies to help you.  One of the best strategies is talking to someone about what is worrying you.

Bam!

Bam! Today at Enrich I played chess in a group of six. Both teams had a good start then I saw a check mate. So I talked to my team and told them the plan. But...they foiled our plan so we had to kill them or they kill us. Luckily I found another check mate and they attacked us, which was part of the plan but they didn't kill our rook so that ruined that plan, so I attacked their other rook so I evened the score. We haven't finished the game but it's close and could go either way. When someone wins I'll tell you.

Defeated!

Ha Ha Ha! Today at Enrich Darryn taught us some advanced chess moves. Darryn played all of us except me. The other people that played Darryn lost. Some people started with the scholar move but Darryn blocked the attack so I'm going to verse him later.

In the Dark

Wow! Its dark over here. Today at Enrich the performance group watched a movie on the whiteboard. It was dark because all the lights were turned off in the area that we were in and around the place we were. In the movie the man was acting out this song we were singing. The song was called: Don't Stop Me Now. In the end the people watching guessed the right answer: Don't  Stop Me Now. 

I thought his performance was silly. Some of the things he did was shake his hands crazy act like his hand was a rocket ship pointed at the ground, his watch, and waved his hands for don't.  

Amazing Performance

 La,La, La..... Oh I didn't realise you were there! Today at Enrich we did talent development. We learnt a song called: River Deep Mountain High. We all learnt it. Nicola played it three times then we got the hang of it. Nicola also played some sounds for us like a wedding. 


We also did a keynote production in groups. We had to type a couple of things about ourself and add effects and pictures of the things we typed.

Singing with Nicola

Today at Enrich we did performance with Nicola. We had to do an audition, mine was singing. Luckily we all made it in. Next week when we do it we will learn a song.         

Queens Park.

Whew! Today at Enrich we went on a long walk in the burning hot sun. Do you know were we went? To Queens Park! We were observing all the patterns we could see and pick out, we also took pictures and wrote them down on a piece of paper. We each got split up into three groups. The leaders were, Katie, Darryn and Jenni. We rotated round three places. First we went to the rose garden, then past the ducks, then the playground, then we went to the bird avery. After all that, we had lunch, yum! After we went to the museum and we went back to Enrich. Our group was first to get to Enrich so we had to wait.  My favourite pattern for the day was:  the birds feathers because they are camouflaged so that is a pattern of survivability.

  

Today at Enrich

"la,la,la!" Today I did music with Jenni. We learnt how to draw music notes and lines, we also sung a song called "My life would suck without you", we also played fortunately, unfortunately  where it's like a fight but it's a word game.
My buddy was Reid. I was fortunately Reid was unfortunately and unfortunately we ended up having me dead!
In the end we ended up tired of all that but that's ok because I still learnt a lot about music notes that I didn't know.

Caine's Arcade

Today at Enrich we watched a movie about a boy called Caine and how he made an arcade out of cardboard! Caine had to stay at his Dad's work over the summer holidays.  He used all the old cardboard boxes to make up an arcade.  He didn't get any customers for A LONG TIME, until one man came to buy a door handle for his car.  This man was also a movie maker.  He stayed and played at Caine's Arcade, and then he posted his movie about it on YouTube.  He organised for lots of people to come and play - Caine is really famous now.  Here is the link:  http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/faIFNkdq96U

Drama Games...

Today at Enrich I played a funny hoop game.  Here in the photo is Rhylee, Samantha and I.  The aim of the game is to get the hoops around the circle without making them touch the ground.  It was pretty hard, but my strategy was to bounce the hoop up to help move it onto the next person.  We also played musical bumps which is a drama activity. What you have to do is someone plays some music and when they want to they stop, when the music stops you had to sit down with your feet crossed. In the first round I came first. In the second round I came last. After that I played leader board chess against Samantha and I won! Lucky I won otherwise Samantha would move and take my place and I would be knocked out of 16th place! 

Wilson game

Today at Enrich I played a Wilson game called the hoop game. We had to be in a team of three. In my team I had Samantha, Matt and I. We came second out of seven. In the game we had seven hoops we had to jump into a hoop at the end. The rules were we always have to have our feet together, we always have to hold each others hand and no touching the hoop other wise you have to go all the way back to the start. 

Piccadilly circus

Today at Enrich the Wednesday kids played piccadilly circus we had one ball two balls then three balls finally four balls. Our best time for three balls was twenty eight seconds the Tuesday kids got fifty one seconds with three balls. over all Wednesday kids got the best time out of each day so far were looking forward to seeing if we got the best score out of Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
